Mermet Springs Trip Sept 4 thru 6
Tuesday, July 27th
Join us Labor Day Weekend at Mermet Springs, in Metropolis, Il. An old stone quarry, Mermet Springs most prominent natural feature is its sheer rock walls which plunge to a maximum depth in excess of 120 feet in areas.
Most divers hang out in the shallower areas of the lake where it's considerably warmer and there are more fish. (They don't like being cold any more than we do)
Training platforms are located throughout the quarry. Fish life includes the elusive spoon bill catfish, which can be spotted swimming near the surface. A Boeing 747 used in the movie "U.S. Marshals" is the lake's signature man made attraction. Air fills & Nitrox are also available. Instructor Jackie Herrick will be available for advanced and specialty dive training during the weekend. Pre-registration is required.

Do Dive In Rolls Out New Specialty Class

Do Dive In is pleased to announce the addition of another specialty class to our extensive line up of continuing education courses. The Essential Skills of Precision Diving class provides a fresh, in-depth look at such critical diving skills & concepts as gear configuration, dive planning, gas management, buoyancy, trim & propulsion techniques, and team diving. This class is designed for divers of all levels, from beginner through instructor, who are interested in improving their skills while increasing both safety and fun. Everyone can benefit from this class, regardless of skill or certification level. Underwater photographers will especially appreciate the precision buoyancy, trim and propulsion skills they will learn to help them get that perfect shot.

Belize Dive Adventure

We're going to Belize the week of August 7-14 for some of the world's best scuba diving aboard the 138 foot liveaboard dive boat Sun Dancer II. Diver package is $1895 and includes 7 nights lodging, meals, & 5 and a half days of diving (up to 5 dives per day) along the world's second largest barrier reef. We hope to have a full trip description up on our Travel page in the next day or so. In the meantime, call Jan if you want to go, or need more information. Deposit is $600.
Since we need 10 people to make the charter go, don't make your airline reservations until we know for sure we have enough for the charter.
