Your first SCUBA course is the foundation upon which a lifetime of safe, fun underwater exploration is built. You don’t want to cut corners here! Your safety and enjoyment depend on the quality of the training which you receive.  Our classes are small, comprehensive and thorough.  We hate large classes-most of our classes average between 4 and 6 students, with a maximum class size of 8.    While most beginning dive courses provide their students with the “basics”, our class  combines the fun of scuba diving with a thorough education to help you become a safe, comfortable, & competent diver, not just a certified diver.

Learning how to dive consists of three phases: Knowledge Development, much of which, if not all, you can do in the comfort of your own home through the use of self study materials; Pool Diving, where you’ll have fun learning the real world skills of scuba diving; and Open Water training where you’ll apply the skills that you mastered in the pool.

Prior to the start of training, you’ll attend a class orientation where you will complete all the necessary course paper work, including a medical history form, and review course logistics and schedule. You will also pick up your student kit and receive your home study assignments which need to be completed prior to the first class. To finish the orientation, your instructor will conduct a brief scuba equipment orientation, and professionally fit your equipment.

Prerequisites: You must be at least 10 years old, in reasonable physical condition, and possess basic swimming skills.

Provided by Student: Your own scuba quality mask, fins, snorkel and wet suit boots. Do Dive In has a wide selection of equipment to choose from at very reasonable and competitive prices.  Plus, all Do Dive Students receive a 10% student discount on all non-sale equipment purchased during their class.

Do Dive In Provides: There are no hidden costs at Do Dive In.  Your course fee includes tuition, all books & materials, & use of all scuba equipment, including wet suits and dive computers, for all pool sessions and open water dives.

Course Formats

We offer several different class formats to fit even the most difficult of  schedules:

E-Learning:

Whether you’re on the go or want to take it slow, now you can complete the Knowledge Development portion of the  PADI Open Water Diver course online with PADI E-Learning. It’s a great match for your active schedule. Fee is $120 payable to PADI upon registration. (Pool & open water dives are not included in this fee).  Click here and start scuba diving today!

Group Open Water Scuba:

Our most popular format. Great for those who can meet our regular schedule, or who prefer more personal interaction with their instructor in a traditional classroom setting. We have a variety of weeknight and weekend classes to fit just about any schedule. A non- refundable deposit of $100 will reserve your spot in class. Private Scuba:

Create your own class and pool schedule. One-on-one instruction allows completion in a minimum amount of time while maximizing personal attention. Semi -private classes are also available.  Contact  Jan for further details at 309/692-7600.

Open Water Training Dives:

This is the last step before you become a certified scuba diver! You can complete the 4 (PADI & SDI) or 5 (NAUI) required dives with us locally or on one of our Caribbean diving adventures. Or, if you already have a trip planned, you can complete the dives with an instructor at your destination. Included in the fee is tuition, the use of all scuba diving equipment for the dives, and one certification fee. Lake entry fees and any travel expenses are extra. Depending on the certification level of your open water instructor, dual certification as a NAUI, PADI, or SDI Open Water Diver may be available for an additional fee.

Course Fees

• Group classroom & pool training:  $240 ($210 for 2nd family member or friend who register at same time)
• E-Learning pool tuition: $130 plus E-Learning Enhancement Pack (includes student folder, dive tables & log book)
• Open Water Training Dives:  $120 (PADI/SDI) or $150 (NAUI) for students completing their classroom & pool training with Do Dive In.   Private Open Water dives can be arranged for an additional fee. Students who have completed their  Knowledge Development and Pool sessions with another Dive Center may complete their Open Water dives with Do Dive In for $200.    (Includes one pool session)
• Dry Suit Option:  Do your Open Water dives in one of our DUI Dry Suits & undergarments and stay toasty warm.  Plus, you’ll earn your Dry Suit Diver Specialty certification the same weekend you complete your Open Water certification dives.  This specialty course also counts as one of the five Specialty certifications required for the coveted Master Scuba Diver rating.  This add on course is $100, plus student kit, which is $25 less than taking the course later.  A Dry Suit orientation session and one additional pool session are required.
• Nitrox Option: Students may also combine  their Nitrox Specialty Certification with their Open Water  course for $75, plus student materials, a savings of $50 off the regular specialty class.  One additional classroom  session and open water dive are required.  This specialty class also counts toward PADI’s Master Scuba Diver rating.
